For years I have been facinated with trains … with hobos, and various people who travel the country on rails.  I’ve enjoyed a few train trips myself, both here and in other countries.  One thing that has always facinated me is the thought of traveling by rail … but not in a train.

Train tracks criss-cross the United States, and they have amazing characteristics … clear paths through amazing wilderness, almost no grade, very hard surface … which makes them ideal for alternate forms of travel.

I created this website to share and discuss the various designs of vehicles that are available – or under construction – that would allow someone to Ride On Rails … to venture out into the wilderness where few people go … exploring the world by rail … but maybe not in a train!
